COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS
Each chapter of the MOMS ClubŪ is required by the national chapter to provide a community service project that benefits mothers and children.
PRIMARY SERVICE PROJECTS
BIRTHDAY BAGS:
These are bags put together by members of the MOMS ClubŪ of Bend so that children who may miss out on a birthday won't have to. Each Birthday Bag contains a cake mix, confetti frosting, plates, napkins, cups, forks and prizes for six people. In addition, each birthday child gets a new Beanie Baby. Organizations throughout our community that work with children (i.e. Big Brothers and Big Sisters, St. Charles Pediatric Center, The Ronald McDonald House, Ready-Set-Go, FAN and COBRA) are given these bags to distribute.
CENTRAL OREGON BATTERING & RAPE ALLIANCE (COBRA):
For the past three years we have sponsored a booth at the Cascade Children's Festival providing temporary tattoos for kids. This Festival supports COBRA which provides comprehensive family violence and sexual assault services and promotes the value of living life free from violence.
PAST SERVICE PROJECTS THE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE:
We are collecting travel-size toiletries for their family rooms. If anyone travels, please grab a few and pass them along to one of our Board Members.
WORKING WONDERS CHILDREN'S MUSEUM:
Bend, OR has a new and wonderful place for kids. The Working Wonders Children's Museum is almost ready to open its door to the community. The MOMS ClubŪ of Bend has been there to help paint, hammer, saw and nail the museum together. We were also able to do an early tour to make sure all of our little ones can easily access the activities there and enjoy them.
STAMPS FOR BREAST CANCER:
We utilized the Post Office's Breast Cancer Awareness Stamps on all of our paper mailings. This donated $.0.07 per stamp to Breast Cancer Research.
